What 'Private' Actually Means
When we call something a Private Day, we mean the Way & Welcome vehicle and the host or driver are private to your booking. Nobody else rides along, and your day isn't shared with another party through us.
That doesn't automatically make every stop on the day exclusive. Some activities, guides, or attractions built into a day come from outside providers, and each one sets its own format. A rainforest walk, a boat trip, or a coffee tour might run privately, in a small shared group, or in a public space, depending on what you book. We confirm which one applies before you commit to anything, not after.
The Way & Welcome vehicle and host/driver are private to your booking. Third-party experiences may operate privately, in a shared format, or in public spaces depending on the experience you choose. We confirm the applicable format before booking.
How Pricing Works
The price you see for a Private Day is the final amount for your whole party's Way & Welcome service: the private vehicle and host for that day. It's not a per-person estimate, and we never add a payment-processing surcharge on top of it.
What it doesn't include: park admissions, activity tickets, specialist guides, meals, and lodging stay separate and are paid directly to whoever provides them, unless we've told you otherwise for a specific day. We flag those as "Paid Separately" wherever they apply. We also don't calculate one combined trip total that folds our service and those outside costs together, because we don't set what other providers charge or when their prices change.
Flexibility, and Where It Stops
Private usually means we can shift the order of the day, stay longer somewhere, skip a stop you're not interested in, or add one that fits better. That's the point of not booking a fixed group tour.
It doesn't mean we can override what's outside our control. Flexibility ends where safety begins, where a reservation or timed entry is already set, where a site's access rules or operating hours apply, where the geography of getting from one place to another sets a real limit, where a cancellation policy is already in force, or where a third-party provider has its own commitments to honor. When a change runs into one of those, we'll say so plainly instead of pretending it's simple.
A Note on Conditions
We can't promise wildlife will show up, that the weather will cooperate, that a volcano will be visible, or that any specific view or outcome is guaranteed. Costa Rica doesn't work that way, and neither do we. What we can promise is that we'll make the most of the day as it actually unfolds.
